MOUNTAIN TRAINS TOUR - Berkshires, White Mountains and Vermont's Green Mountains


Discover fabulous foliage in the mountains of New England aboard three picturesque mountain train rides in three different states!  Travel to the beautiful Berkshire region of Massachusetts, explore Norman Rockwell's charming village of Stockbridge and enjoy the sparkle of New England's incredible foliage with views of Mount Greylock (the highest peak in Massachusetts) and the surrounding Hoosac Mountain Range aboard the Berkshire's Railway.  Stay three nights on the Vermont/New Hampshire border.  Discover the majestic White Mountains as you take in  unsurpassed mountain vistas along the  famous "Kanc" Highway.  Your maple experience awaits at the Faddens Sugar House In North Woodstock. All aboard for fall colors on the White Mountain's Train experience.  Your Vermont day includes a Green Mountain Railway Excursion with views of covered bridges, cascading waterfalls and Brockway Mills Gorge.  Visit the enchanting town of Woodstock, VT.  Take a fun horse-drawn wagon ride in the Vermont countryside at Billings historic farm.  Stop at the famous Vermont Country Store for great New England-made products. Package includes three breakfasts, three dinners, three train excursions and more.

Day 1

Today we will head to Mass - Stockbridge, MA - Take time for lunch on own and explore this charming New England Village, home of the beloved American illustrator, Norman Rockwell. Berkshire Scenic Railway - Sit back and enjoy the sparkle of New England's bright foliage with views of Mount Greylock (the highest point in Massachusetts) and the surrounding Hoosac Mountain Range. Learn all about this mountainous region from the gilded age with the on-board narration. Dinner included


Day 2

Expanded Continental Breakfast - With hot choices. Depart for Lincoln, NH with a stop at the New Hampshire Welcome Center. Arrive at Faddens Sugar House in North Woodstock. Lunch is on your own in North Woodstock. Travel through scenic mountain passages to "The Rocks". Enjoy an interactive virtual tour at the Rocks Estate of the sap boiling process in the sugarhouse and maple museum. North Conway Village - Ready your cameras for a stop in one of New Hampshire's most charming villages. Take in the Austrian-style train station, crisp, white church steeples and colonial era shops. Check out the yummy local food products, Main Street cafés, hand-made crafts and antiques at Zeb's famous New England Country Store. Time for lunch on own. Kancamagus Highway - Travel New Hampshire's most scenic roadway, filled with breath-taking, mountain vistas. Capture great foliage shots!!! Mountain Train Excursion - Fall doesn't get any better!!! Enjoy a sample of New Hampshire products as you ride the rails through the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire. See amazing foliage as you follow the winding "Pemi" River and cross over two span trestle. Stop at a Farm Stand adorned with life-size Scarecrows made by local famous artisans. Pick up your favorite New Hampshire goodies. New England Inn Dinner Included - Tuck into hearty New England fare in the warm atmosphere of the historic Woodstock Inn.

Day 3

Expanded Continental Breakfast - With hot choices. Quechee Gorge Photo-op - Nestled in the Green Mountains, stop for a photo-op at "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon". Billings Historic Farm and Wagon Ride - Breath in the fresh air at this farm museum of Vermont's rural life with exhibits covering the 19th century to today. Tour through the charming 1890 Farm House located in the rolling Vermont hills. Experience the working dairy operation and walk through the heirloom gardens. Enjoy a old-fashioned horse drawn wagon ride. Woodstock Village - Named the "quintessential New England village," the town of Woodstock is hock full of charming Americana, including a covered bridge smack in the center of town and a village green surrounded by restored Georgian, Federal Style and Greek Revival homes. Take time for lunch on own, browsing the shops and a walk through the covered bridge. Green Mountain Flyer Rail Excursion - Ride in fully restored 1930's antique passenger coaches pulled by a vintage locomotive. Travel along the Connecticut and Williams Rivers between Bellows Falls and the 1872 Chester Depot. Pass by covered bridges, a beautiful cascading waterfall and Brockway Mills Gorge. Cross over the rivers for breath-taking views.
Vermont Country Store - Stop in the 1946 New England Country Store, on the National Historic Register. It's like shopping in a museum with fascinating merchandise and New England antiques. Dinner Included

Expanded Continental Breakfast - With hot choices. Vermont Country Store and Covered Bridge - Stocked to the rafters with a wide variety of locally made award-winning Vermont cheeses, rows of penny candy, kitchen gadgets and endless items from the past. Take a stroll through the Kissing Bridge and visit the Grist Mill Museum.
