"Blithe Spirit" at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse with Lunch

Socialite and novelist, Charles Condomine, is wrestling with writer’s block and ensuing depression. In an effort to combat his bad mood, he throws a dinner party and invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to conduct a seance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The plan backfires, however, when his dead first wife, Elvira, is summoned into ghost form and proceeds to haunt Charles and his present wife, Ruth. Ruth is not thrilled with this turn of events when it becomes obvious Elvira is quite jealous of Charles’ present marriage and believes Charles belongs only with her. Elvira begins to plot to see that she and Charles are once again reunited, this time forever. However, Madame Arcati, is determined to reverse her ghostly mistake and hilariously attempts to send Elvira back to the realm from which she came. Will Elvira be banished or will Charles continue to be haunted by his wife (and others?) for the rest of his days?  Lunch will be enjoyed before the show!
