We will begin his informative, evocative, and emotive tour at the NEW Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Museum in Cambridge, Maryland. We will start with a short video introducing us to Harriet Tubmans life. An immersive display shows how the landscape of the Choptank River region on Marylands Eastern Shore shaped her early years and the importance of faith, family, and community. The exhibit features information about Tubmans role as the conductor of the Underground Railroad, highlighting her work as a freedom fighter, humanitarian, leader and liberator. Step outside the visitor center and relax and reflect in the legacy garden. Next we will visit the Bucktown Store where Harriet was wounded by a slave owner while defending another slave. This injury would cause Harriet to have debilitating headaches though out her lifetime. Lunch will be at nearby Suicide Bridge where we will enjoy an Eastern Shore Style Lunch of crab cake and fried chicken along the Choptank River. Return home taking with you memories of a time so important in history you must see it for yourself!
