Day 1

Arrive in Washington, D.C. & enjoy lunch on own at L’Enfant Plaza.

Explore ARTECHOUSE, prepare yourself to be dazzled by their Spring Show! With a mission to inspire, educate, and empower the creation of new, experiential, and exploratory art form, ARTECHOUSE connects audiences to the arts, and stimulates interest in the limitless possibilities of technology, science, and creativity.

Meet your GUIDE and depart on a Pink Tied Stroll and photo oppor-tunity among the Japanese Cherry Trees (blossoms pending nature’s timing and cannot be guaranteed) along the Tidal Basin.

Stop at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial. This memorial to FDR com-bines sculpture, water, and natural landscape to forge a dramatic setting for recounting the events and terms of office of the nation’s 32nd Presi-dent.

Stop at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial. The long await-ed memorial utilizes landscape elements to powerfully convey three fun-damental and recurring themes of Dr. King's life: justice, democracy, and hope. The memorial is a quiet and receptive space, yet at the same time, powerful and emotionally evocative, reflecting the spirit of the message Dr. King delivered and the role he played in society. The King Memorial is intended to be personally transformative for visitors, building a sense of commitment to the promise of positive change and active citizenship.

Stop at the Jefferson Memorial. The 19-foot statue of the third president stands beneath a rotunda inscribed with passages from the Declaration of Independence and Jefferson’s other famous writings.

Later arrive at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor for a VIP Pink Reception in a glass-enclosed Rooftop event space with incredible views of the Potomac River and National Harbor!

Each guest will be greeted and receive a keepsake official Cherry Blos-som 2022 Pin to wear throughout our festivities during the week. Enjoy a signature Pink Cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. Meet our “Pink Team” of entertainers including Miss Sherry Cherry, Floyd the Flamingo, a “Cherry Picker” Guitarist, and First Lady Helen Taft.
Enjoy free time & dinner on own at the resort or National Harbor!

With exhibits such as Covers and Legends, School for Spies, Secret History of History, From the Ballroom to the Battlefield: A Spy’s Eye View of the Civil War, Spies Among Us, War of the Spies, Weapons of Mass Disruption, and The 21st Century you will become well versed in the lan-guage of spy at the first museum dedicated to international espionage.

Enjoy dinner included this evening at a lively tavern known for pub fare channeling Alice's Wonderland with an upside down room & more.

Depart and continue on with an Illuminated Monument Driving Tour. Washington’s grand buildings, memorials, and monuments sparkle and are impressive during the day; but in the evenings they are illuminated, soft, focusing the solid stones and bronzes; fountains and water features shimmer in reflection; shadows darken highlighting the floodlit detail. Impressive during the day – stunning at night!

See the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Kore-an War Veterans Memorial, the National World War II Memorial, & drive by additional memorials and monuments as time permits.

Return to your hotel for the evening.
