PHILADELPHIA 250: The America’s Birthplace Story with a three-course lunch in Philadelphia

Today on tour we will hear stories of the people, places and things that made Colonial Philadelphia the seat of government for the young nation. … and see the very buildings associated with the founding of the United States of America including the site of the First and Second Continental Congress. · What let up to the First Continental Congress in 1774 … followed by the Second Continental Congress? · Who was the Committee of Five? · How many changes were made to the Declaration of Independence prior to adoption? What was the treasonous act committed inside Independence Hall? · What happened next after July 4th? Learn the answers to these questions and experience the places where the creation of the country took place – 250 years ago! The highlight of the day will be an at-your-own-pace visit to the Museum of the American Revolution (including audio guide tour) to see the core collection plus special exhibition, The Declaration’s Journey. The exhibition will bring together in a single presentation the most important American and international documents and objects that demonstrate the lasting international significance of the American Declaration of Independence.
