Day 1
Manchester, VT - Hildene, Lincoln Family Home - Rutland, VT
Today, travel to Vermont, where the holiday season brings a special kind of magic to the Green Mountains. Stop in Manchester, VT to visit the magnificent Hildene, the former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln, and his wife, Mary Harlan Lincoln. Tour the restored 24-room Georgian Revival mansion adorned beautifully for Christmas, and you'll experience the time, tradition, and nostalgia of past holidays. End the day in Rutland, VT where you enjoy a four-night stay. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.
Day 2
Vermont Teddy Bear Factory - Dakin Farm Tour - Waybury Inn Luncheon - Middlebury’s Exchange Street District
After breakfast at the hotel, your first stop today is the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, where the magic of "made in Vermont" comes to life. Peek behind the scenes to see how these iconic bears are brought from idea to cuddle-worthy-creation - completed with fun factory moments and a chance to browse the gift shop for the perfect holiday keepsake.
Next, you continue to Dakin Farm, known for its warm hospitality and generous samples of classic Vermont specialties. Browse a
delicious selection of maple treats, cheese, smoked meats, and Vermont-made gift baskets - ideal for bringing home a taste of the Green Mountains and checking a few names off your holiday list! Then continue north to the historic Waybury Inn for an included lunch. Originally built in 1810 as a stagecoach stop, the inn later gained fame as the exterior setting for The Bob Newhart Show, adding a touch of nostalgia to this charming stop.
This afternoon, enjoy free time for holiday shopping in Middlebury's Exchange Street District - twinkling storefronts, local boutiques, and small-town season cheer make it easy to find something special. While here, you will also visit the Danforth Pewter flagship store, where you may observe skilled artisans at work during live demonstrations and discover beautifully crafted ornaments, jewelry, and timeless home pieces. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant.
Day 3
Vermont Maple Farm - Cold Hollow Cider Mill - Lunch at Trapp Family Lodge - Ornament Making - Vermont Annex
Start the day with a visit to a traditional Vermont maple farm, where you'll step inside the sugarhouse for an engaging demonstration and enjoy tastings of rich, golden maple syrups. Then visit the Cold Hollow Cider Mill to see apples pressed into fresh cider and soak in the warm aromas and rustic charm of this local favorite.
Next, visit the famous von Trapp Family Lodge for a festive holiday luncheon. Enjoy a festive, Austrian-inspired meal in the main lodge, surrounded by mountain views and the timeless story made famous by The Sound of Music. Following lunch, gather for a private
Christmas ornament-making experience, complete with cookies and tea - an intimate and memorable way to celebrate the season.
The afternoon features the Vermont Annex, where you'll have time to browse an enticing collection of Vermont specialties, including Cabot Creamery, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Danforth Pewter, and more. Tonight, dinner is included at a local restaurant. (
Day 4
Woodstock, VT - Billings Farm & Museum w/Sleigh Ride - Weston, VT - Weston Christmas Village - Vermont Country Store
After breakfast, depart for the quintessential New England village of Woodstock and a visit to historic Billings Farm & Museum for Christmas at the Farm. Enjoy festive holiday activities along with a private, old-fashioned horse-drawn
sleigh ride through the picturesque farmstead (weather permitting or a wagon ride if conditions require),
plus a fun hands-on activity or tasting. This classic New England winter experience is truly one to
remember. Midday, enjoy lunch on your own in charming Woodstock, with time to explore its
quaint shops and village green.
Day 5
Village Peddler & Chocolatorium - Christmas Tree Farm - Depart for Home
After breakfast, stop at the Village Peddler & Chocolatorium, where a lively and entertaining chocolatier will guide you through a hands-on chocolate-making xperience as you create a delicious Christmas treat of your own. Next, visit one of Vermont's family-owned Christmas Tree Farms to learn how Christmas trees are grown and harvested, before departing for home.
