Cairnwood Holiday Tea and Tour of Bryn Athyn Cathedral in the Historic District of Bryn Athyn, PA

We start at the Glencairn Museum for a self-guided tour of the first floor and the World Nativities exhibition. We will then head over to the Cairnwood Estate for a festive three-course Holiday Tea. Served will be Premium teas by master blender Harney & Sons, traditional tea sandwiches, soup du jour, seasonal salad, family style scones with clotted cream, jams, and Christmas cookies! The Cairnwood Estate is a Gilded Age country house built for industrialist John Pitcairn and his wife Gertrude in 1895. Christmas at the Estate features three floors decorated for the season by professional florists. The Christmas exhibition includes elegant vintage fashions circa 1870s to 1970s worn by the ladies of the house. Our last tour of the day is the Bryn Athyn Cathedral which is highly acclaimed for its outstanding architecture and spectacular stained glass windows. The Cathedral has been an active house of worship since its dedication in 1919, and Christmas is a special time of celebration. This guided tour highlight symbolism throughout the building drawn from the Bible and New Church teachings.
