Detroit's "Dancin' in the Street"

There’s gonna be “Dancin’ in the Street” at this spectacular event because we have two super hip dinner shows. First is an evening of Motown Music featuring sounds from Martha Reeves and the Vandellas (Martha even joins us for a meet & greet).  Then you relive the Roaring 20’s, with rides in a classic Packard and a swinging Motown Dinner Show in costume. Book it now baby, before there’s “Nowhere to Run.”

There is a lot of walking involved in this trip.

Day 2

Day 2 - Detroit, MI - Costumed Motown Dinner Show w/Martha Reeves Meet & Greet - After breakfast, travel to Detroit, MI where you enjoy a two-night stay. Detroit is famous for being the birthplace of Motown, founded by Berry Gordy, in a modest house he called "Hitsville U.S.A." Gordy incorporated elements of the Detroit auto assembly line into his business model,
structuring the company with songwriters, producers, and artists, including the Funk Brothers as the house band. Motown's music became the soundtrack for a generation and played a significant role in the Civil Rights movement.

Tonight is an exclusive Motown Dinner Party and Dance, at the Motown Legacy Event Center. You will have a meet & greet with Miller London, the first African American Sales Executive for Motown Records, and Martha Reeves best known as the lead singer of the Motown girl group Martha and the Vandellas. The evening includes a delicious meal, and then a chance to move and groove to live Motown Music.

Day 3

Day 3 - Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation - Greenfield Village - Roaring 20’s Dinner Party at Packard Proving Grounds w/ Kasan Belgrave & The Black Gatsby’s - Ride in a Classic Packard - After breakfast, visit the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Step into a world where past innovations fuel the imagination of generations to come. A vibrant exploration of genius in all its forms, Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation allows you to experience the strides of America’s greatest minds while fully immersing yourself in their stories. Step inside the bus where Rosa Parks took a standby taking a seat. Play pilot as you explore flight innovations, starting with the Wright brothers' achievements, or make yourself at home inside Buckminster Fuller’s circular Dymaxion House. Put yourself in the place of the movers and shakers who blazed the trail to where we stand today. And in doing so, discover your own path.
Continue your experience by exploring Greenfield Village, an open-air living history museum. It features over 80 acres of historic buildings, working farms, and interactive exhibits that showcase American life from the 17th century to present. Don't forget the Giant Screen experience at The Henry Ford. Discover an array of captivating films that bring history, innovation, and adventure to life!
Return to the hotel and freshen up for your evening at the Packard Proving Grounds. This factory included a test site for Packard Automobiles and part of tonight’s fun will be riding in an antique Packard over that original test track (weather dependent). This 14-acre site includes the Car Company’s original buildings which includes a museum, automobile exhibits and a large party room for our Dinner Dance. The Roaring 20’s Era saw Detroit grow faster than most American communities due to the unique combination of a roaring automobile industry, Prohibition and Speakeasies, and the explosion of jazz music. Tonight, we celebrate that history.
Your dinner show is an exciting Roaring 20’s dinner with a Prohibition Era Cocktail. Be sure to dress the part. Entertainment is
provided by Kasan Belgrave & The Black Gatsby’s. Belgrave is the son of the late Detroit Jazz Artist and Master Trumpeter,
Marcus Belgrave, a multi-woodwind instrumentalist. Kasan takes pride in contributing to Detroit’s rich
pedigree of musical mentorship, passing on jazz melodies through generations. In 2017, Belgrave
performed a duet with the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin in her last ever live Detroit performance
at the Music Hall.
