Explore Lake Michigan's Scenic Breathtaking Waterfront Towns Along with a Stay on Mackinaw Island

This 7-day tour across Michigan combines the state's industrial past, island luxury, and rich cultural landscape.

The tour begins by highlighting Michigan's vital Automotive History in Detroit with a mini tour of the comeback city and a visit to the historic Packard Proving Grounds to explore the golden age of luxury automobiles.  It includes a tour of the Albert Kahn-designed facility, a look at vintage cars, and a ride in a vintage Packard (weather permitting). The tour then transitions into an experience of Northern Michigan's natural beauty, featuring a scenic Elk viewing carriage ride and gourmet dinner at Thunder Bay Resort. The centerpiece of the trip is a step back in time on car-free Mackinac Island, complete with a memorable lunch at the iconic Grand Hotel and classic carriage tour of the island.

Traveling south, the tour showcases architectural wonders like Charlevoix's whimsical "Mushroom Houses" and the sprawling Castle Farms. The final leg is in Grand Rapids.  A major highlight of this visit is the exhibition of "CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens," where world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly's iconic glass sculptures transform both the sprawling outdoor gardens and indoor galleries. A visit will also be made to the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum where guests will gain deep insight into the 38th President's life and career. The entire experience is framed by stunning Great Lakes scenery and capped off with a unique, themed dinner at a historic, former Prohibition-era Supper Club.

It's been around since 1921 and has a long history as a hangout for the Mafia, the Purple Gang, bootleggers, mobsters and thugs. Much of the place is the same as it was in the 1920's. Once known as 'Fritz's and Alfredo's' it was a notorious gambling spot in the 1920's. Still sparkling like diamonds are the crystal chandeliers and tiny white lights throughout the main dining room. The concave brass ceiling over the balcony had lookouts so someone could keep their eyes on the illegal gambling below. Men even patrolled the railings on the balcony with machine guns to watch the card games and slot machines. During prohibition the Supper Club had low windows installed so illegal liquor could be accepted and then transferred to the crawl space under the floor. Expansive mirrors are set against one wall which covered the hidden doors leading to another room with the crap tables in the 1930's. Be sure to check out their authentic 'cigar room' and bar where more illegal card games were constant. After dinner depart for your final night at the Courtyard by Marriott Rossford, OH
