It's Shore Good in Maryland

Welcome to the crossroads of Maryland’s Southern Eastern Shore. Our first stop will be the Somerset County Visitors Center for a quick break. While there we will enjoy the Burgess Rural Living Center housed in the center. It is a small museum showcasing the history of Somerset County from the late 1800’s to the mid-1930’s.

Next stop, Teackle Mansion in Princess Anne. This Neoclassical historic museum is known for its distinctive architecture. 19^th century period rooms exhibit the grandiose lifestyle of the early American gentry built between 1802 and 1819, only the wealthiest could afford. In addition to the formal rooms, it houses an indoor bath, kitchen with steam- operated equipment, and much more!

Lunch today will be inside the historic Washington Hotel. Sugar Water is a farm-to-table restaurant known for its fresh ingredients and creative dishes good for the soul. After we eat we will have time to stroll in the gardens and meet the farm animals, donkeys, goats, and sheep.

Next stop is the Bordeleau Winery located on Wicomico Creek. We will have fun tasting a wide variety of wines including complex reds, whites, mead, ciders, and fruit wines. Don’t forget to take some home!

One last stop at Island Creamery, in Salisbury, MD known for its homemade ice cream churned in small batches. Made with fresh cream and milk from local cows and locally grown fruits and goodies it’s a special treat! Depart for home with many SHORE GOOD MEMORIES!!!
